SPECIALTY CLASSES

diveicon.gif (1266 bytes)NAUI ADVANCED DIVER COURSE

This course is designed to introduce certified divers to a variety of diving activities and is taught entirely in an open water setting.  Successful graduates of the course are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the dives and areas dived approximate those of training.   Dives you are required to complete are navigation, night or low visibility, and deep.  You may choose three more elective dives from the following:   boat diving, search and recovery, non-penetration wreck diving, diving in surf or currents, shore diving and computer diving.

Prerequisites:

Age.  Minimum is 15 years.  (Jr. certification for ages 12 - 14 is allowed)
Dive Certification.  Certification as a scuba diver by a NAUI recognized agency is required. 
Equipment.  Students shall furnish and be responsible for the care and maintenance of their own diving equipment. 
Hours.  Academic - 6 hours approx.
Open Water Dives.  A minimum of 6 open water dives is required. 
Deep Dives.  No training dives are conducted in excess of 130 feet.  Simulated stage decompression may be added. 

Price:  $250.00, includes 6 dives.

This program requires a new Open Water student to take 4 SDI specialties or equivalent, along with having a total of 25 logged dives.  With the exception of Deep and Computer Diver, none of the SDI specialties may be taught at the same time.  However, an instructor can teach two specialties in one day but both courses must be taught separately.    

Prerequisites:

Age.  Minimum is 10 years, with the exceptions of Deep Diver, Diver Propulsion Vehicle, Dry Suit Diver, Ice Diver, Search & Recovery Diver and Wreck Penetration Diver.
Dives.  Must have 25 logged dives.
Equipment.  Students shall furnish and be responsible for the care and maintenance of their own diving equipment.

Rescue Diver is not a specialty course, but rather a stand alone course which may be taken only after a diver has received their Advanced Card.   Must have your own dive gear for this class.

I.  Drager Ray:  Designed for Sport Divers, the Ray uses Nitrox 50 with a 70 minute run time.  Weighing just 31 pounds, the Ray is a compact, lightweight semi-closed unit that is virtually bubble-free.  The Ray is easy to learn and rental units are available.  Course includes 4 dives.  Nitrox 32 valve is now available, allowing you to dive to 130'.

Prerequisites: 

Age.  Must be 15 years of age. 
Must be Nitrox certified. 

Price:  $300.00**

II.  Drager Dolphin:  Designed for Advanced Divers using multiple Nitrox mixes, the Dolphin provides up to 2 hours run time.  Weighing 38 pounds, the Dolphin is compact, easy to use and versatile.  With integrated weight system and built in buoyancy device, the Dolphin will get you through an entire weekend of diving.  The course includes 4 dives.  

Age.  Must be 15 years of age.
Must be Nitrox certified.

Price:  $300.00**

**Both courses taken together only $500 and includes 6 dives.
