The Dräger Ray
The Ray is specifically designed for the casual recreational diver and is
a smaller version of the Dolphin, described below. Divers using the Dräger Ray use
50% Nitrox and have a maximum depth of 72 FSW. Their is an optional 32% valve
available for depths up to 130 feet. Divers using the Dräger Ray system are
limited to a maximum dive duration of 70 minutes, regardless of the amount of gas
available in the cylinder. This is due to the fact that the scrubber canister is
smaller than the Dolphin unit and can only be used for the 70 minutes. A
course on the unit is required where you will learn the use and care of the
Ray.

The Dräger Ray weighs 31 lbs.

The Dräger Dolphin
The Dräger Dolphin removes carbon dioxide from the exhaled gas through a
soda lime cartridge and then channels it into the inhalation bag, where it is enriched
with fresh Nitrox from the supply cylinder. This constant supply of fresh gas
ensures that you will always be provided with enough oxygen.
Another aspect of rebreather diving that you will enjoy is that the
inhaled air is pleasantly warm and moist. This is because the chemical reaction
involved in the absorption of carbon dioxide generates warmth and moisture, and, as a
result, even ice diving can become a real joy.
Because there is optimal reuse of the exhaled gas, your gas consumption
drops by up to 90%, meaning that one cylinder can last for a whole weekend of diving.
And, since you're using Nitrox, you can stay down longer as decompression times
have been increased since your breathing air contains less nitrogen.

The Dräger Dolphin weighs 37.5 lbs.
A rebreather training course is required to learn the care, use and
operation of the unit.
